Help Save Our Insects

Welcome to Biotopia

Biotopia is a youth-led organization focusing on insect habitat restoration. A few passionate highschoolers, members of the Biotope Club at Basis Independent Fremont, expanded efforts beyond creating Biotopes, or naturalistic aquariums. We grow native seedlings from old coffee pots and distribute these plants to the community with the goal of introducing people to native gardening. Together, we can restore habitats that insects have lost due to urbanization.  Check out our events page to register for specific ways to help the environment!

Our plant giveaways work as the following

1) You can view our plants, flowers and vegetables, in the "Our Plants" section

2)  Because they won't be available at the same time, register for our periodic giveaway events via "Events" section or with the link under the plant

3) We will notify you when the plant you registered for is available!

4) Come to our event, pick up your baby plant, and grow your garden!

Reject Pesticides, Grow Your Own Food!

The use of pesticides on crop farms kill not only pests but also insects vital to our planet, like bees. Planting your own veggies helps pollinators and keeps unhealthy chemicals out of your diet. Jump start your garden through our free baby vegetable plants.

Support Insects Through Gardening

As more infrastructure is built, we need to be able to coexist with nature, rather than excluding it from urban areas. Embrace the insects, birds, and other furry friends - build up your garden with some of our free seedlings!
